Overview

The USC GIS Research Laboratory WebGIS site provides access to many of the services developed during the course of ongoing research in the lab. The services offered focus foremost on the production and accuracy of geographic data. Improving and explaining the underlying accuracy of one's data will lead to increased precision and confidence in the scientific conclusions drawn from them.

Address Parsing and Normalization
Services for processing postal addresses including address parsing, normalization, standardization, and validation

Address Validation
Validate address data interactively

Geocoding
Services for turning postal addresses into geographic coordinates including parsed, non-parsed, and batch postal address database geocoding

Geocoding Correction
Services for correcting geographic coordinates

k-Nearest Neighbors
Identify the k-Nearest objects closest to the input coordinate

Point-In-Polygon Census Intersection
Services for associating Census variables with coordinate data

Polygon Tracing
Services for drawing and storing geographic polygons using online maps and satellite imagery

Usage Fees and Rules

Our services are provided free of charge in allotments of 2500 transactions. All we ask is that you cite us in your work and/or add a link to us on your website.
