Point-in-Polygon Census Intersection

Overview

Point-in-polygon intersection is the process of assigning an input coordinate the values from an areal unit within which it resides. The USC WebGIS Point-in-Polygon Census Intersection Service will assign Census 2000 geographic variables to input coordinates (latitude and longitude pairs).

Version 1.0 - May 22nd 2009

The USC WebGIS Census Intersection Service stores the Census 2000 tabulation block, block group, and tract information in a SQL Server Spatial database. Census values are returned by performing a spatial intersect using the input coordinates.
